Top Ten Tuesday: 10 Bookish Halloween Costumes!

Happy Halloween everyone!! Are you doing anything fun tonight? Unfortunately, we're expecting lots of rain, so I may not get many trick or treaters and I am very sad about that. So I may end up watching more Stranger Things (or possibly HalloweenTown 2) and eating all the candy I bought for kids lol. And probably finish Bad Girls Don't Die because I was too spooked out to finish it last night. Seriously, I had to go look at kittens on Pinterest before I could go to sleep.

Did you dress up today for work/school/running errands? I did a low-key cat lady outfit, but mostly it's just my normal clothes with a bit more makeup than usual. :D And today's The Broke & The Bookish TTT topic is perfect if you want a bookish costume. I gathered these mostly from Pinterest so don't have links. (If your pic is shared & you don't want it to be, please contact me & I'll take it down immediately!)

Love this Princess Jellyfish group cosplay!! Especially since they did a before otaku version and after stylish.

Super comfy Arthur cosplay (he was my favorite as a kid), a creepy cute Coraline with her friend, and a seriously adorable Matilda. I've never read Matilda, I should change that...I love the movie!

What a great way to take your littlest one along! This Where the Wild Things Are family is my favorite.

Into mischief? Pippi Longstocking, Sherlock Holmes, or Harriet the Spy are perfect for you!

And of course, no bookish costume list is complete without some Harry Potter goodies. These Snape & Luna teens are perfect, they've got the attitudes down!

And a bonus: when you can't decide on a specific book, just go as a book fairy! (I'm hoping they chose carefully which books to use for this costume lol.)

TILT: Bookshelves

Ever since I moved (okay, before I moved. Always.), I've been obsessed with getting new bookshelves. So of course, that's what I'm focusing on for Things I Love Thursday today!! (Click any of the pics to make bigger!)

(if you do not want your picture shared, please let me know & I will take it down!)

A truly lovely rainbow reading nook from Oh-thebookfeels

This gorgeous green shelf didn't have a source but I love all the different sized shelves and crannies! This is probably a dream shelf for me. And I would definitely need the step stool lol.

Has anyone else been completely obsessed with getting a library cart ever since that Book Riot article? No? Just me? Well fine then. ;) KylieMInteriors shows off different ways to use the Ikea cart and I really love this sunshine yellow one from Amazon (comes in lots of colors). My sister suggested I could use it for my to-read books and I love that idea! Now, I just need some money. Hmm...
Okay, it's totally impractical but how cool is this bathroom/library? And I seriously considered purchasing this bookshelf shower curtain on Amazon when I moved, but I decided against it. One of you should buy it so I can live thru you! lol...

What are you loving on this fabulous September Thursday? Share below!

TILT: Crazy Bookshelves!

Yay! Back to Things I Love Thursday! :) Now....as you may or may not know, I have issues with bookshelves. Mine is old and rickety and exploding at the seams and overflowing onto my trunk and another shelf that I really want to get rid of. And yet, I haven't replaced it because it's really hard to find the perfect one! I'm sure I'll eventually want one custom built. But for now, let's enjoy these crazy bookshelves I found on Pinterest, k? Oooo-tay!!

Spiral Bookshelf: I think this would be awesome for my Baby-Sitters Club books, don't you? I'd probably need two or three and it to go around the outside too though lol.

Piano Books: What a great way to upcycle an old piano! I have a family friend who plays the piano that this would be perfect for! ;)

Under the Stairs: Even better than a cupboard under the stairs, how about some book storage?

Dr Who Phone Booth: Okay, I know nothing about Dr Who, except that there is a phone booth a lot of the time? Does he change costumes there? Travel back in time? Or maybe just store his books in there? I don't know, but this is cool!

(my apologies for not giving the original links; if you are the owner of one of these fabulous bookshelves/pictures and want credit or your pic removed, please contact me or comment below!)

Did You Miss Me? I Missed You.

Did you miss me? Did you even notice I was gone?? Lol...I apologize for the unexpected break, I really didn't mean to take off for a full month. But lots of things happened, including losing our sweet Fuzzy kitty unexpectedly, and I just didn't feel like writing for a while. :( Here she is in my sister's bright pink room, with a cute little bow on her head. <3

Okay...moving on! I have of course been reading still. I am at 47% of my reading goal for the year, which is good enough for me. You can check out my progress here if you are interested! I stopped reading the BSC books until I got my Super Special review done, which I am happy to say I did yesterday and it will be up tomorrow! I hope to have the 3rd BSC All Grown Up out Friday or Saturday too. :) So, now I have to get back to reading those. (I have the next "What Claudia Should Have Worn" already done and everything!)

I finished 1Q84 and enjoyed it immensely, while also being completely confused. I read my classic for June last week, Cannery Row, and loved it. I will have a review of it up early next week. I'm going to start The Fault In Our Stars finally for July's book club and am very excited for that. And I think I'm going to read Bitterblue for my work book after I finish The White Queen (which is just as good and trashy as any other Philippa Gregory book lol).

So that's where I am personal and book-wise. How about you? Anyone still out there? What are you reading, did read, looking forward to reading? Any suggestions for future classics? I have a couple on my to-read shelf, but I want to hear what you loved and think I should read too!

And I leave you with this silly little drawing that I found on Pinterest, which has been taking up waaaay too much of my time lately! (As always, follow me here & comment below for an invite!)

TILT: Pinterest!

Today's Things I Love Thursday is brought to you by the letter 'P' for Pinterest. I love Pinterest, it's such a fun time-waster lol. There are so many great pictures and ideas on there...and OMG, don't search the food boards when you're hungry! You will want to eat everything in your kitchen afterwards, trust me! Do you have a Pinterest account? Follow me on there! Want to get on Pinterest? Comment below with your email and I'll send you an invite!

Here's a few of my favorite book related things...and my whole book board.

I love the colors in this room, but I really pinned it for the READ on the wall...I want to get those big wood letters at the craft store in all different fonts to spell READ over my bookshelf.

Book Christmas tree...next year for sure.

I neeeeed a book cocoon!!
