TILT: Book Posters #15

Bookish artwork is one of my favorite things. I get so inspired by some of them and others I want to buy and hang on my wall so I can look at every day. I've got several prints already that I need to hang up soon and share with you all, but I want more! (I feel like Veruca Salt when I say that.) So today's Things I Love Thursday is going to feed that want. :) Do you have a favorite bookish print/poster/art piece? I'd love to see it!

(if you do not want your art shared, please contact me & I will take it down!)

Unfortunately, I could not find sources for these first 3 prints, which is super annoying. If you know any of these sources, please please share so I can link back to them!

1. I am so looking forward to Friday so I can cuddle up with my boyfriend and his doggies and relax with a good book...and probably some Doctor Who. :) It's been a long week already and I'm ready for the weekend!

2. I'm missing my book kitty, Binky, lately. We had to put him to sleep in February...he was almost 18 years old! This is the last pic I took of him I think, crying to get him out of that chair lol.

3. I wonder if this is actually a fabric print? That would make such a cute dress, especially for librarians!

4. This print by Igor Morski is magical, letting books carry you away to far-off lands.

TILT: Book Posters #14

Time for more bookish artwork on Things I Love Thursday, so let's just get started shall we?

(if you do not want your art featured, please contact me!)

It's better to have your nose in a book, than in someone else's business...found on Indulgy and so so true! It is a lot easier to stay out of trouble when you are involved in a wonderful book and have no idea what is going on in the real world lol.

Why can't people just sit and read books and be nice to each other? quote by David Balducci, print by EvieSeo. Yes! Maybe we just need to read a nice picture book to some of these politicians and that will make them calm down. ;)

Mathilde-Bookworms United by C A-F--I love the simple colors and shapes used in this.

Pro eReader by Paper Pie--you don't see many (any?) eReader bookish art prints. This one is lovely. You can almost feel the breeze coming through that open window.

TILT: Library Cats in Book Posters

Cats and books just sort of go together, don't you think? I mean, yes, sometimes a dog will cuddle up with you, but cats are like velcro to laps lol. Well, mine is anyway. So I thought I'd dedicate this week's Things I Love Thursday to kitty librarians, because I really want that to be a thing! :)

(if you don't want your art pictured here, please let me know!)
Also, I had a hard time with some of the artists, so please correct me if needed!

Kitty Library by Ms Cat -I don't know if I approve of cats sitting on the bookshelves, but how adorable is this print?

Kitty Librarian by Liselotte Eriksson -I feel like this would be Giles' (from Buffy) cat helper. Or Professor McGonagall's brother lol.

Kitty Reading on Pawel Pawlak -don't you love finding a quiet corner of the library to peruse your selections?

A Library of Cats on LecturImatges -the cat walking away with the stack of books is totally me!

TILT: Book Posters #12

Book posters are some of my favorite things to do for Things I Love Thursday. (As you can probably tell.) There are so many talented people out there and it just amazes me what they can come up with. You'll want to go to the links to see these beauties in full size!

And what else am I loving today? The fact that it's going to be 60+ degrees this weekend, just in time for my mom's birthday! And all the organizing we did over Christmas vacation (especially my bookshelves). Orange is the New Black, which I just started watching recently. My kitty cat, who is like Velcro when you have a fleece blanket in your lap. Oh, and my new toy photo project for this year! :) Now you tell me what you're loving on this wonderful pre-Friday!

(if you do not want your work featured here, please contact me!)

Reading by Erin Beachy -I so wish I could draw half as good as this!

Bowl of Reading by Jazzberry Blue on Society6 -I love the cherry on top :)

Little Girl in a Library by Petit Four Thought -seriously, another talented artist making me jealous! Also, that's how I feel when I go to the library lol.

Book Alphabet by BuchAbet (I believe they are the artist, correct me if I'm wrong) -this alphabet was made using real books! I can see this in a nursery or children's room, can't you?

Bonus, because I love this comic (hopefully I haven't shown it before) by Grant Snider of stray books. You can purchase a print of it here.

TILT: Book Posters #11

Time for another Things I Love Thursday: Book Posters edition!! I found some awesome ones on Pinterest this time. What are you loving this week? Besides books, of course, I'm also loving So You Think You Can Dance. It's one of my favorite summer shows. And also the yummy creamy avocado pasta that I'm about to have for lunch. :) And especially, the fact that it is Thursday and only 1.5 days til the weekend!! I am SO READY lol. Okay, on to the book stuff...

Book Birthday by French Fries & Waffles --this is more of a comic (be sure to go read it up close!), but I still think it'd be cute as a poster. And that sounds like the perfect birthday to me! You can buy some of the artist's prints here.

I don't know if this is available to print anywhere, but how cool is this vintage summer reading poster by Rudi Bass? You can see more of them on Stickers & Stuff's blog.

I love Maurice Sendak so much and this vacation poster is adorable. He did a whole book of reading posters that you can view on BrainPickings.org and buy on Amazon. Of course, the wild things are my favorite, but I love this sea dragon too.

And finally, this neat book print by Fifth & Hazel. I love the basic drawings of the books and searching to see if you're favorite title is on there. You can buy and print your own black & white version here.

TILT: Book Posters: Get Radical with Reading!

With all the politically-ness this week, I thought I'd use that as a jumping off point for my first "Things I Love Thursday" in 3 months! (Can't believe it's been that long!) The theme made sense in my head, but I'm not sure how well it transferred to this post. Oh well, still some fun things!

(as always, if you do not want your work linked, please contact me!)

Real Men Read by Edward Gorey --I would personally love this as a poster print or even note cards. I think it is so important for a parent to show their child that reading can be enjoyable. And I think that's almost more important for men to show their sons...it doesn't make you less "masculine" to read, even if you're reading romance books with bright pink covers. You can get some good tips for "wooing" in there. ;)

Cost of Libraries quoted by Walter Cronkite --seriously. No more budget cuts for libraries! They should have amnesty or whatever. And a raise. And cupcakes. Yeah.

Librarians are Generals found on ForgottenBookmarks (if you know the original source, let me know!) --this would make a great t-shirt for casual day at the library. :) Going with the previous quote though, librarians are awesome. Use them!

Twilight or War & Peace quoted by Rae Carson --honestly, I don't care what you're reading as long as you are. I may judge you a little bit for picking up 50 Shades, but if that gets you to read when previously you weren't? Good for you! Who am I to critique your reading choices? I read everything from classics to comics!

TILT: Book Owl Posters

I thought I'd feature some more book posters on today's THINGS I LOVE...and then I realized I hardly ever do owl stuff. For shame. So this TILT is Owl-Centric! :)

(if you do not want your art featured, please contact me!)

Me & My Friends by GreenNest --my friends are super cool hipster owls with glasses and fancy feather patterns. Jealous?

Read More Books by ArtOfThePage --distinguished owl says it, so you'd better listen!

Bookish Owl Too by TheFoxandTheTeacup --look at her bow! So cute!

Herbert the Owl by Maggieshurley --I love when people give things names, saves me the trouble. :) Herbert is very serious, we'd better not disturb him.

TILT: Book Posters: Little Monsters Edition

I've been saving a few of these prints for a while now, since I took my (unintended) break. But now I'm back, with a shiny new Things I Love Thursday, little girls & monsters edition! Kind of sounds like Lady Gaga right? :)

(as always, if you are the owner of one of these lovely pics
& do not want your art referenced, please contact me!)

Books Can Take You Anywhere by TheLittleFox --such a pretty little print, don't you think? Click on the link for the full pic, she looks like she's floating away to adventureland.

I <3 Books by Fishcakesoboy --from the description "Educated narwhals love a good novel, doncha know." Lol...love it!

Reading Aloud to a Monster by GenevieveSantos --do you think they're reading Where the Wild Things Are? I love how "life-like" the monster looks. I would name him George. Or Pablo.

Little Lady Godiva by TheArtfulBumblebee --she may be Lady Godiva, but she looks like Pippi Longstocking to me and I love it!! Maybe it's Pippi playing Lady?

TILT: Book Posters: Cat Edition

Today's Things I Love Thursday combines two of my favorite things: books and cats. Wait, three things: book posters! :) My cat loves to sit in my lap right when I start reading. If it's a big book, he wants to lay ON the book. And always wants to smell it and rub on it. Le sigh. Good thing he's so cute. Evidence of cuteness and annoyingness:

So I dedicate today's TILT to my kitty cat, Binky. :)

Cat Lovers Home by PrintsbyChristine --this is absolutely true.

The Literary Cat by VintageArtPrint --always love me a good dictionary print. I wonder if eventually people will run out of dictionaries and start using something else..the phone book maybe? Nobody uses those anyway.

Book Kit Watercolor by Bebkit --I think he's saying "feed me, then you can have your books back".

Black Cat Lucky 13 by Strawberryluna --I love this little mod kitty. If he was in teal, I would snap him up right now. Actually, I might anyway. :)

TILT: Book Posters #6!

The first Things I Love Thursday of 2013 should be in one of my most popular themes...book posters, don't you think? Me too! :)

Books May Cause Unseemly Outbursts found on Quintessence of Dust (but seems to be from Novel Crossing) --I've definitely had a few outbursts while reading ;)

All You Need is Love Books found on Barbie Librarian (not sure of original source) --maybe love AND books?

Book Tree by Leen --this person has some really awesome artwork, I encourage you to check it out!

The Way to a Woman's Heart is Through the Bookstore found on FanGirlAmy --absolutely true for me!! Give me a book and I will love you!

And a special bonus...Hey Girl. <3

TILT: Book Posters Take 5

Things I Love Thursday: I actually counted them this time and even made a handy little tag "Book Posters" so you can go see them all at once! :)

You Can't Buy Happiness, But You Can Buy Books and That's Kind of the Same Thing by We're All Mad Here --ain't that the truth lol.

Mo Willems' Pals Read on ALAStore --wouldn't this be cute in a nursery? Love it.

Miss Piggy & Kermit Read found on the Muppets Wiki --I love that Miss Piggy is dressed up like a librarian and you know she's going to "let her hair down" later with Kermit lol...(bonus: there are tons of other posters on there, including "Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner at Tiffany's" :))

Retro Book Cat by Visuaria --this person has a bunch of other cool book posters too! Would be fun to get 3 or 4 on a wall.

TILT: Book Posters Version 6.25

More book posters for today's Things I Love Thursday woot woot!! :)

(I always try to find the original link, but if one of these is yours
& you don't want it up, please contact me!)

I Am A Book Hoarder by CinderellaInRubberShoes --my sister pinned this poster for me the other day because we were talking about how I am starting to hoard books and I may have to start sleeping with them soon lol.

Bookworms Aren't People Who Love to Read by Belcastro Agency (I believe) --absolutely!

Busy Library by MojaMoja??  --I'm not sure where this is originally from, so if you know, please comment below! I love the print though, that's how a library should be.

Say it Loud, Say it Proud: I am a Book Geek by CinderellaInRubberShoes --I think I found a Tumblr to follow, even though I have no idea how Tumblr works lol. I love a lot of this person's prints, so great!

TILT: Book Posters The Sequel (Third? Fifth? Who Knows?)

I thought it was time for another Things I Love Thursday: Book Poster edition. :) I love book art. I've been hanging pics up in my room (after 7+ years, horrible) and I just love it so much. I want more now! Lol...

(as always, if you do not want your picture linked, please contact me)

Let's Read Together by Spencer Wilson --a book owl! What's not to love? My favorite part is the argyle tummy.

Never Judge a Book By Its Movie by Karimachal --true words by JW Eagan.

I Sniff Books by DigibuddhaArtPrints --I totally do and I'm not ashamed of it either. These colors would look perfect in my room too.

Reading 1 Book is Like Eating 1 Potato Chip by The Readables --Right? I think that's my problem with reading the 80s-tastic BSC books...it's now making me want to read all my 80s faves: Sweet Valley, RL Stine, Christopher Pike, it just goes on and on.

A Good Book Has No Ending Print by LittleSonrisa --so true...I'm looking at you, Harry Potter!

Reading is Cool Art Print by ParadaCreations --I love love love the little owl! I need someone to draw me an owl for my blog header and twitter picture...I can't draw at all lol. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

Princess Bride Poster by HappyLandings --Princess Bride. Need I say more?

A Book Lover Print by ILoveDoodle --this guy was too awesome to even fit all the way on the page! Check out the link for the full awesomeness!

Book Nerd Decal by EllieHearts --a bonus today because it's too cool for school (or is it?) and it wouldn't fit in the little squares! :) I want this for my library bag. Extra bonus because the seller lives in my area!

TILT: Reading Duh!

Today's TILT is brought to you by the letter R, for Reading. :)

Quiet Please I Am Reading Print by LittlePlaces --I would put this on the door of my reading nook. I need a reading nook.

I <3 Reading Bottlecap Magnet by PeaceandLoveBoutique --use this to hold your book list or your library receipt! Speaking of library receipts, I think I have some overdue books darn it!

Book Lovers Bottlecap Magnets by PendantLicious --have a mega book list like me? You need more magnets!

Keep Calm & Read a Book Poster by Agadart --excellent advice!
